It uses a kind of small and a rather low-power digital radios. It is basically based on IEEE 802.15.4-2003 standard. It is used in wireless headphones that is connected with the cell phones through means of a short –range radio. The technology used by ZigBee is quite simple and fairly less expensive when compared to other WPAN technology. Zigbee is used for applications that require a very low data rate and a highly secure networking. A group of companies belong to the ZigBee and it keeps publishing the ZigBee standard.
